BrushQuote ("we", "our", or "us") provides a mobile application and related services that help painting contractors create professional proposals, invoices, and client communications. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use BrushQuote.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and business name. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the identifiers Apple provides.
Business profile. You may provide your company name, phone number, reply email, logo, and default deposit percentage. This information appears on proposals and invoices you generate.
Walkthrough data. When you use BrushQuote to document a job, we collect:
- Photos you take or select from your photo library
- Voice recordings you make during walkthroughs
- Customer names and property addresses you enter
- Typed notes, room labels, and scope descriptions
- Square footage estimates and pricing selections
Device information. We collect standard device identifiers, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and performance monitoring.
Purchase information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not collect or store payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate proposals, invoices, and PDF documents on your behalf
- To power AI-assisted proposal drafting from your walkthrough data
- To sync your data across sessions and devices
- To send proposals and invoices to your customers when you choose to share them
- To manage your subscription and provide customer support
- To monitor app stability through crash and performance reporting
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:
- With your customers. When you send a proposal or invoice, the recipient sees your business name, contact details, and the document contents you created.
- Service providers. We use named third-party processors to operate BrushQuote. Each one processes only the data needed for its role under a data-processing agreement:
- Supabase — account authentication, database hosting, and secure file storage for photos and audio recordings.
- OpenAI — AI-assisted proposal drafting and voice-note transcription. Walkthrough photos, audio, and typed notes are sent to OpenAI's API to generate proposal drafts. OpenAI does not use BrushQuote data to train its models.
- RevenueCat — subscription and receipt management alongside Apple's App Store.
- Sentry — crash reports and performance diagnostics.
- PostHog — product analytics (feature usage, screen events). We do not share PostHog identifiers for cross-app advertising.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (sign-in, proposal shares).
- Cloudflare — edge networking and DDoS protection for BrushQuote APIs and share links.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your walkthrough data, proposals, and business profile are stored on your device and on our secure servers. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Photos and voice recordings are uploaded over encrypted connections and stored in secure cloud infrastructure.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and export. You can view and export your proposals and invoices as PDFs at any time from within the app.
- Deletion. You can delete individual proposals from the app. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly in the app: open Settings → Delete account. Account deletion removes your proposals, walkthroughs, photos, voice recordings, and business profile from our systems. You can also email [email protected] if you prefer to make the request in writing.
- Camera, microphone, and photos. You control whether BrushQuote can access your camera, microphone, and photo library through your device settings. These permissions are optional — the app remains usable without them, though some walkthrough features will be limited.
- Notifications. You can manage notification preferences in your device settings.
- Analytics. BrushQuote does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), and does not share data for cross-app or cross-site advertising. Because no cross-app tracking occurs, the App Tracking Transparency prompt is not required.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and proposal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
BrushQuote is designed for professional use by painting contractors. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
